Lifeguard

Position Summary:
The Boys and Girls Club of Kingston & Area is currently seeking energetic people to be responsible and accountable for the delivery of aquatic programs and services, day to day operations of the aquatic facility, liaison with facility partners and supervision of members and patrons in and around the pool facility.
Hours: Flexible work schedule required; day, evenings and weekends, with the possibility of some early morning shifts.
Rate of pay: $16/hour

The Boys and Girls Club of Kingston and Area is seeking an Early Childhood Educator Coordinator for our Licensed After School Programs located in the North End of Kingston.
The ECE Coordinator will be responsible for providing JK/SK programming that use developmentally appropriate practices in a safe physical environment. ECE Coordinator will implement programs that provide experiences that promote social, emotional, physical and cognitive development.
Successful candidates will understand the importance of physical and emotional health, and display an enthusiasm for working with children. Candidates will maintain a warm and open relationship with the children in their groups, and will be sensitive to their needs and able to communicate readily with them.

*Please note the position will take place Monday to Friday between the hours of 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.*
Rate of pay - $15.50 + Wage Enhancement Funding and possible EarlyON Supply hours

Reading Clinic Instructor

Position Summary:
The Reading Clinic
provides intensive, one to one remediation of reading writing & math difficulties for students from kindergarten to adulthood. Our unique Yes! Programs utilize current research and an approach based on both Orton-Gillingham and Multi-Sensory Structured Language (MSSL) principles. Since opening in 2001 The Reading Clinic has helped hundreds of children and our instructors have delivered over 30,000 hours of instruction. 

Intervention sessions are offered on both an intensive five-day a week model year round, as well as twice weekly sessions and individualized instruction utilizes best practices in an emotionally nurturing environment.
The Reading Clinic is recognized as a unique centre of expertise dedicated to skilled intervention for the success of struggling students. 

Reading Instructors receive intensive training in the Yes! Reading program which incorporates best practices in order to facilitate quality reading intervention and maximize student success. Instructors work one-on-one to deliver intensive reading remediation.

After School Programmers

Position Summary: After School Programmers will be responsible for creating and/or implementing detailed and unique program plans that promote healthy active living and healthy childhood development (physical activity, social skills, personal health and wellness etc) during our after school programs for members aged 6-12.

Positions will be at the following locations:
*West End Hub (Frontenac Mall location)
*North End Hub (North End & Rural School locations)
*Robert Meek (Bagot Street location)
*Please note the position will take place Monday to Friday between the hours of 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Hours vary depending on specific site location*

Custodians/Cleaners (Part-time)

This position will perform daily program area cleaning duties, pool cleaning duties, and duties assigned by the Facility Manager. Two facilities require custodian support; larger facility is 65,000 sq/ft and the second is 35,000 sq/ft.

Duties would include cleaning floors with mop or Tenant electric floor scrubber, glass, mirrors and numerous other touch spots throughout the facilities, such as counters, door handles, and light switches. You would also be responsible for the cleanliness of bathroom sinks, toilets, and showers also checking them on a regular basis for their cleanliness.

Candidate will also report any damages or peculiarities to the facility manager in order to keep the building in great working order.

Applicants must be available for weekends, evenings and possible holidays.

Applicants must have previous cleaning/custodial experience and a clean police check with vulnerable sector.

Experience with a Tenant electric powered floor scrubber, and swimming pool maintenance would be an asset.

A positive attitude and team approach is required, and enjoy working in a building with children and youth.

Morning/Daytime Lifeguard Position

Position Summary: The Boys and Girls Club of Kingston is seeking part-time lifeguards to work morning/day shifts. Hours will vary based on the needs of the facility, with a guarantee of 15 hours per week. Lifeguarding staff is responsible and accountable for the delivery of aquatic programs and services, ensuring the delivery of customer service excellence. Aquatic team members are to handle the day-to-day operations of the aquatic facility, liaising with facility partners, and supervising both members and patrons in and around the pool facility.

Bus Driver

Overview: The Boys and Girls Club is presently seeking part-time and casual bus driver positions. These positions will provide daily transportation for children and youth to attend day care, after-school programs, summer camp programs and various functions in the community. 

All Drivers must comply with Boys and Girls Club, school and government regulations.

Qualifications:
*Previous driving experience
*hold a class B drivers license
*Clean drivers abstract 
*Clean police check with vulnerable sector

A positive attitude and team approach is required, while enjoying working with children and youth.
