After School Connections is successfully in its seventh year, and is stronger than ever. The licensed childcare Program, running out of the Robert Meek Community Youth Centre, served 8 schools in the inner city area. Members attending our Program location have access to daily Homework and Education Programs, including a Creative Writing Program and a Therapeutic Paws Reading Program. Our location offered healthy snack and Dinner Programs each day, allowing our members to sit, "family style" and share a meal with their peers and staff. In addition to our core programming, our members have access to a large outdoor playground, and participated in specialized Programs such as sign language, yoga and a Mentoring Program with our kinder age members.

The Boys and Girls Clubs After School Programs offer children a constructive, supportive and safe way to spend their free-time. Quality Programs during critical hours are uniquely positioned to increase children’s physical activity and tackle rising childhood obesity rates. Such Programs also break the isolation associated with poor mental health outcomes while also supporting school success and skills development.
